I've succumbed to the pressure and I finally joined Facebook. So far I like it seems to be a mix of MySpace and Twitter. What have I gotten myself into?
Fun Photo Friday - Sarah Hill Photography
These pictures were actually taken with a silly little point and shoot because "someone" (I won't mention any names, Miss Photographer, ehh hmm) came without their CF card.
This is what the talented Miss Sarah came up with...

Thinking Christmas
Yes, you read that right. I am already thinking about Christmas. Much to my husband's dismay, I might add. Just a mere 22 days into the new year and I have already started my Christmas shopping list. In fact, I started that yesterday. And if I am being honest, I have been thinking about Christmas since, well, since we came back from Ohio. I see something in a store and I think, "Ooh, that would be a good Christmas gift." Or I see am idea on a blog and go, "That is what I am doing for Christmas this year."
Lots of ideas are running through my head. I know for a fact I will be doing photo calendars again from VistaPrint. Those were a huge hit and I am not leaving anyone out this year. Everyone can always use a calendar and who doesn't want pictures of my adorable babies. I have also thought about doing a cookbook. Compiling some of the best tried and true recipes from my internet friends. Some of my favorite meals (like peking porkchops) have come from online friends sharing their favorite recipes. I am also thinking that the kids' gifts to their godparents will be a framed piece of art... something they make themselves. Sara and Adam won't be able to really create much of anything but I am sure their godmothers would appreciate an adorable finger painting.
I don't want to spend a ton of money on stuff that no one really wants anyways. I also don't know what kind of room I will have for storing stuff and if we are too far away to drive home for Christmas, everything will need to be mailed. It is a real possibility we won't be able to make it home for the first time since, well, forever... at least as a family. So things can't be breakable or liquids and preferable light so I am not spending as much on shipping as I did the gifts.
Anyone else already thinking about Christmas? Or am I the only lunatic out there...

Yo Gabba Gabba
Yesterday we were watching Yo Gabba Gabba and John had never seen it before. I must say, it is a sight to see to someone who is not accustomed to the dancing "monsters."
As I was trying to explain the show to him I realized I did not know who was who on Yo Gabba Gabba. I know who Brobee is... he is my favorite. So cute and I love the toy they have in stores. I wish someone would have gotten it for Sara for Christmas. Since my brain would not settle til I knew them all, I went to my friend Google for answers.
Toodie - Toodie is described as a cat dragon. I didn't see the dragon-like qualities until today. She does seem to have spikes going down her tail.
Foofa - Foofa is a pink flower bubble thing. Really, how else would you describe her?
Muno - Muno is described as only a cyclops. John asked what he was yesterday and I said I didn't know. He said, "He looks kinda like... ummm... with all those nubbies on him." OMG, he does! And when I Googled "What is Muno?" one of the links I got said "Muno, cuddly monster or sex toy?" Nice! Now I will only think of him as a sex toy every time I see him.
Plex - Plex is the robot. No two ways about that LoL
Brobee - Brobee is only described as the little green one. I think he looks like a monster, so that is what we will go with. He is so stinkin' cute. LoL
The show is so different from anything else on tv for kids. They bring in stars that the kids might not know but they show off their talents like singing, skateboarding and drawing and the kids just eat it up. The songs are super catchy and their merchandise is beyond cute.
That reminds me of when I was on my way to California over the summer. I was wearing a Yo Gabba Gabba teeshirt I bought from Hot Topic. It said "There's a party in my tummy" and had the veggies and fruits having a party in a tummy on it. The flight attendant gave a chuckle as I was approaching and said, "That shirt is so cute. How far along are you?" Ummm, yah, I wasn't pregnant. She obviously had never seen the show before and didn't really get the picture either. I was slightly offended but I guess it kinda makes sense to someone who has no clue about the show.
Anyways, you can check out their myspace page, their blog and gabbafriends.com for all things Yo Gabba Gabba!

Yesterday
I was up late Saturday night... slept in on Sunday... had to work at noon.
The morning wasn't so bad. The kids all slept in. I wasn't hungover. I didn't have to drive myself to work. It was all going so nicely.
Then it started to go down hill. This lady came in for an appointment at 130. They arrived early, about 115. They filled out their paperwork and began getting the little girl dresed up nice and pretty to have her pictures taken. I asked if they had a chance to pick out backgrounds and she says, "No, we just got here." I left her alone while she finished dressing the little girl and I returned back when she was brushing her hair. I pointed out the background selection board and began making some suggestions... this is how the conversation played out...
"This is our background selection board here. These are our two birthday backgrounds. The white would look really nice with the number 1."
"No. I don't like the numbers on the white. You can't see them."
I didn't interject with, "Actually you can see them. And besides, the focus is on the child, not the prop." but I should have.
I then continue with some other suggestions... "The pastel or the soft yellow would go well with her dress."
She then snaps at me, "If you give me a minute I will let you know."
I was PISSED. I set the pen and paperwork on the counter and just walked away. I told Sarah she could take over, I was done. There was no reason whatsoever for that woman to snap at me. I did not in anyway interrupt her and I was not trying to rush her along. I was merely doing my job. A job where I do NOT get paid enough to deal with this crap.
Drew and Sarah took over but the little girl was not in a picture taking mood. I went in after a couple of minutes and took over for Drew. I thought the little girl might be scared of him. I got two pictures of her sitting next to the number 1 but that was it. She was done and "grandma" was not even willing to try anything else. She also did not like either of the two really cute pictures I happened to snap of her granddaughter. Oh well. That was done and I could move on.
Sarah and I then went downstairs to get pretzels from Auntie Anne's. I love that place. I always get their pretzel dog and some pretzel sticks with a cherry coke to wash it all down. Drew had already bought me a cherry coke since he owed me a drink from the weekend prior so that was taken care of. Sarah offered to buy the pretzels so I couldn't pass that up. I ordered my usual.
We get back up to the portait studio and dove in to some yummy pretzel goodness. The goodness stopped short when I found a long black hair sticking out of my pretzel dog. I began pulling it out when I realized that it was actually baked IN the dough. Nice. Sarah yelled at me to take it back... I was going to, I just wanted to eat my pretzel sticks before those got cold. She also wanted me to demand something for free... I just don't do that.
I finally made it back down to Auntie Anne's. I walked up and told them there was a hair baked into my pretzel dog. The lady took it from me and didn't say a word. No apology, no offer of a refund or anything else. Now, like I said, I don't ask for anything for free but when someone has a problem... the first thing out of your mouth should be, "I am SO sorry about that. What can I do to make it right?" Then you can ask if they want another whatever it is they are upset about or if they want a refund or something. Usually if there is a problem you go above and beyond to make it right. Nope... this lady just replaced the pretzel dog and didn't say anything until handing it me. Then she said, "Sorry about that." but really, she didn't sound sorry at all. I swear, customer service is a rare art in this city. I think they might actually teach a class just for Savannah employees... "How to Offer Bad Customer Service in Any Given Situation."
I wasn't really that upset with the situation. I get it... hair gets into everything. Trust me, I know. I shed like a shaggy dog. My hair is EVERYWHERE! But this is a place of business that serves food and these people are not even wearing hairnets. They wear visors or hats but nothing that actually keeps the hair in. Anyway, not my point. I just would have preferred a little more sympathy on the employee's part. A woman standing by heard my problem and says, "I really did not need to hear that." To which I replied, "I really didn't need to see it." LoL
I wish I could say that was the end of my bad day but it was not. The day escalated out of control from there. I had plans to go see a movie with Sarah and Victoria but when I got home I found out something that really pissed me off. My husband made a bad judgement call and on top of that he used way too much coke and ketchup for the crockpot porkchops and he washed some of my clothes (that is a big NO-NO, I do my OWN laundry, no one else can touch it.) I was livid. I was screaming at him and he just walked out. I remained mad all night... in fact, I think I am still mad now. Slowly getting back to where I will actually look at him and talk to him. I really hope he doesn't make a mistake like that again, at least for his sake and no, I don't mean doing my laundry, although I may consider divorce if that happens again.

Poopy Review Monday
Since I never got around to watching any movies that I haven't already reviewed this week, I thought I would post a review of Adam's potty training.
We have been going strong, at home, for about a week now. There was one day where he peed on the floor twice... and he knew he was doing it. He ran around naked for a good 4-5 days and we were so proud of him. Just these last two days he has been running around with pants on (no underwear) and I think there is an end in sight.
Today, he ran into the living room wondering where his potty chair was (daddy started redoing the bathroom this afternoon while Adam & Sara napped). His potty chair was in Lexi's room and we cheered as he peed on it. I moved it out into the livingroom so he wouldn't have to go into Lexi's room every time he had to go and just a few minutes ago he said he had to poop.
He has only pooped on the potty a handful of times since John started with potty training back in July. He usually waits until he has a pullup on to do his business. In fact, yesterday he went pee on the potty all day and then as soon as we put a pullup on him to go to bed, that is when he pooped. Today we hit a new potty milestone. He pooped on his potty. This is HUGE, as was his turd. I seriously think I had tears in my eyes seeing that thing. Any mother who has ever potty trained a child will share in my delight at seeing such a sight... if you are the least bit squeamish, or eating... don't look any further.
Something only a mother could be proud of...

My New 'Do, As Promised
Here are the pictures from mine and Miss Sara's trip to the hair salon at Penney's yesterday. Lina is the greatest hair stylist out there. She is quick, accurate and funny. She makes you look better than the picture of the celebrity cut you want and she actually talks to you (and enjoys it, she isn't just making small talk to pass the time). She eggs on her co-workers and I don't think I've ever seen her without a smile on her face. So if you are ever in Savannah and need a haircut, go to Penney's and ask for Lina, you won't regret it.
Here are our before, during and after pictures

Fun Photo Friday - Lexi & Adam, Professionally
This is Lexi and Adam's Birthday pictures that Miss Sarah & I took a couple of weeks ago while I was at work. They turned out so cute it was hard as hell to pick which ones I wanted. It was a miracle I didn't spend more than $6 (I had my work bonus of 20shts including enhancements, I just printed two onsite, that's the $6 I spent).
