Saturday was a perfectly boring day... that is up until Kadie climbed on my lap crying incessantly that her head hurt. I started to think about the the story of how a little girl complained a headache two days after a head injury and ended up having internal bleeding and needing surgery, she was only saved because the parents had just heard of Natasha Richardson dying from the same thing. I walked her into the kitchen to give her some Tylenol but then she puked, twice. I started to panic and told John I was taking her to the hospital. She started screaming... "No. I don't wanna go. I'm okay. I'm okay." And deep down I knew she probably was fine (I hadn't seen her hit her head) but I wouldn't be able to live with myself if it was something more serious (because knowing how rough my kids are, she could have hit it and me not know it).
We arrived shortly after 11 and were in a room getting blood drawn by 12. She then had a CT and we just waited and waited and waited for the results to come back. Turns out she just has a sinus infection (or so the dr says, I'm thinking he just didn't want to send me home without a diagnosis, but I could be wrong) and he gave us some antibiotics to help clear that up. We were home and in bed by 2am.
I felt like a paranoid first time mom but everyone was very nice about it. They may have been laughing at me in the hall but I didn't care. I'm just glad to have been wrong.

Movie Review Monday
I know, I know... I missed Fun Photo Friday. In my defense though, Friday was a hectic day. Kadie had school which meant I had to get everyone up and dressed then all off to school. I took a trip to Target to pick up some things I needed (and forgot cat food). Then had to pick Kadie up at 1pm and the other kids at 330pm. After school Sarah and I decided to go take pictures of the kids at the park and she got a few good ones before it started raining. Had to make dinner for the kids when we got back home and then John came home so that Sarah and I could go for drinks and appetizers at Chili's. It was so good. I love their chips and salsa. I had two very strong drinks and a triple shot... I was feeling pretty damn good.
Anyways, on to the movie reviews... just wanted to let you know why I didn't post Fun Photo Friday like I said I would.
Friends TV Series - I watched the entire series in the last couple of weeks (except for season 1, accidentally started on season 2, which I thought was season 4 when I randomly picked one to watch and then decided to just keep watching from there) and I forgot how awesome that show was. If you have never seen it you are missing out. Downright hilarious! My kids watched most episodes with me but they refer to sex a lot, and they say bitch quite a bit... they also say shit once. I love how much they could get away with on that show. You will laugh, you will cry, you will gasp... you will fall in love with Friends for the first time, or all over again.
Traitor - I didn't actually watch this whole thing, I just caught bits and pieces of it... but what I did see was pretty good. When straight arrow FBI agent Roy Clayton heads up the investigation into a dangerous international conspiracy, all clues seem to lead back to former U.S. Special Operations officer, Samir Horn. Don Cheadle plays Samir and he plays him extremely well. If you like conspiracy movies, this is a good one to check out.
Be Kind Rewind - Starring Jack Black and Mos Def, this comedy is about a couple of guys that have to replace a whole video store with homemade versions of the movies that were accidentally erased. When the customers actually like the homemade versions they begin selling them at top dollar to keep the video store in business. A feel good movie that reminds us that there are people willing to help and people really do care about each other. It's not that funny and isn't even that great, but not a complete waste of time either.
Snow Buddies - Another installment with the golden retrievers that everyone loves. This time the puppies find themselves in Alaska and become a dog sled team. A great family film that the kids will love. My three middle kids actually sat and watched the entire thing. (Sara was napping and Lexi was at her friend's house).
The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor - The third installment of the Mummy series starring Brendan Fraser finds the O'Connell family in China battling a Dragon Emperor and his supernatural powers. Rachel Weiss was not in this one which highly disappointed me, but the movie itself was not highly disappointing. I refused to see this in theaters because I knew I wouldn't enjoy it without the original Evie but I still had to see the movie when it came out on DVD. A very good movie that fits in well with the series. If you loved the first two, you will like this one too. If you haven't seen any... go, now... see them!
Stranger than Fiction - I may have already reviewed this, and if I have... sorry. Will Ferrell plays Harold Crick, an ordinary man working for the IRS that all of a sudden starts hearing a narrator tell "his life story" in his head. Upon learning that the author he is hearing in his head is planning on killing him he has to persuade her to change the ending and stop his imminent death. It's an okay movie. Funny at some parts, just boring at others. That was the second time I saw it, so obviously it wasn't terrible.

It's Been A While
But I am back!
I took some time away from the computer to try and recoup and it worked, for the most part. The kids are still driving me crazy and the stress of trying to find a house in the Quad Cities area is making me even crazier but I missed blogging.
I will be back later this afternoon with Fun Photo Friday and you can expect a TON of movie reviews on Monday. What's for Dinner Wednesday is no longer relevant because the kids have soccer practice that night so it's mac n cheese, hot dogs or Wendy's for dinner, not exactly anything to be flaunting around the internet, ha!
Well I hope y'all are still around to read about my crazy life and I apologize for being gone so long. :)

Bri Unplugged
I want to apologize to my readers... I won't be around for awhile. I need to gain some control over my house, my kids and myself and having the internet here for me to "escape" to is not helping any. I will probably be back in a week or so (when I have to pay bills) or this weekend (when John is home) but for now I am unplugging the internet and going off the grid.

Movie Review Monday - Just One This Week
A long time ago we had rented Because of Winn Dixie from Netflix but we never got around to watching it, so I sent it back. Just recently, we were at MovieStop and they had it for only $1.99 so I picked it up. I figured, if the kids didn't like it, we were only out two bucks, so what the heck. We watched it yesterday and I must say, that was $2 well spent.
Because of Winn Dixie - A little girl and her dad move to a new town where he is the preacher and she has no friends. It is just the two of them until a dog, which the little girl names Winn Dixie, comes into their lives. The dog is rough around the edges but turns out to be a blessing in disguise. I really liked it and for the most part, the kids did too. For awhile even Sara sat watching the dog reek havoc. 4.5 stars... I'd have given it 5 if my kids had sat watching the whole thing.
