Fun Photo Friday - What Should I Wear?

My 10 year reunion is coming up in just over a week and I cannot decide what to wear. I bought two dresses on Ebay but one is too tight all over, and the other is too loose in the chest. I do not think I will fit into the one that is too small because even if I do lose the weight my bones are not going to change ;) The one that is too big in the chest can be fixed with a bra (or two) LoL but not sure I actually like it. Then I have two other dresses that have both been worn one other time, though I'm not much of a dress repeater. Or my other option would be dress pants and a sexy top from Victoria's Secret which I would need to order like NOW!

First up is this dress here, only I have it in purple. I would wear it with black leggings because I really don't like my legs and possibly this pair of gold heels.

Or there is this dress that I wore to my brother's wedding... I believe I also wore the gold heels with this one.

Then there are the two I got from Ebay... no pictures of me wearing them but I will show you what they look like. The first is the one that is too tight everywhere... the second is the one that is too big in the chest, both size medium.

Or I could go with something like this from Victoria's Secret... a sexy corset top and black pants. Which I really like since I'm not much of a dress person but it's going to cost a bit (on my VS card of course). ETA: Slight problem... pink is out of stock until the 22nd but the black is available. I don't want black on black, do I? So maybe the black top with white pants? Maybe I can order a pair of pants in black and a pair of pants in white. I do need knew white pants... hmmm.

So what do you think?

Let the 30 Day Shred begin!

This past weekend I decided to jump on the 30 Day Shred bandwagon. With my 10 year reunion just two weeks away I was looking for something challenging and fun that would give me quick results. I was just going to go buy it at Target. Then I thought, why buy ANOTHER workout DVD that will probably just get used a week or so then tossed in with all the others to collect dust. I checked Netflix instead... sure enough, they had it and I added it to my queue.

It finally arrived yesterday and after just one workout I am already wanting to buy the dvd for when I return this one to Netflix :) Jillian Michaels kicked my butt!!! I loved the 20 minute intense workout. She literally keeps you on your toes. My legs feel like jello but I cannot wait to do it again!

Since there is only 11 days until my reunion I have decided to be "shredded" twice a day until then. I only did Level 1 but Lexi wants me to try Level 2 with her so I may just do that tonight. If I can do it I will do Level 1 when I get up and Level 2 before bed, EVERY. DAY. I think I can do it!

Bring on the shredding!!!

A Bit of Advice

I got this in my email, and couldn't risk my butt falling off... err, I mean, it was too funny not to share :)

Stuff a miniature marshmallow in the bottom of an ice cream cone to prevent ice cream drips... on second thought, just suck the ice cream out of the bottom of the cone, for Pete's sake! You are probably lying on the couch with your feet up eating it anyway!

To keep potatoes from budding, place an apple in the bag with the potatoes... on second thought, buy mashed potato mix. Keeps in the pantry for up to a year.

When a cake recipe calls for flouring the baking pan, use a bit of the dry cake mix instead and there won't be any white mess on the outside of the cake... on second thought go to the bakery! They'll even decorate it for you!

If you accidentally over-salt a dish while it's still cooking, drop in a peeled potato and it will absorb the excess salt for an instant 'fix-me-up'... on second thought, if you over-salt a dish while you are cooking, that's too bad. Please recite with me the real woman's motto: 'I made it, you will eat it and I don't care how bad it tastes!'

Wrap celery in aluminum foil when putting in the refrigerator and it will keep for weeks... on second thought, celery? Never heard of it!

Brush some beaten egg white over pie crust before baking to yield a beautiful glossy finish... on second thought, the Mrs. Smith frozen pie directions do not include brushing egg whites over the crust, so I don't.

Cure for headaches: take a lime, cut it in half and rub it on your forehead. The throbbing will go away... on second thought, take a lime, mix it with tequila, chill and drink! All your pains go away!

If you have a problem opening jars, try using latex dish washing gloves. They give a non-slip grip that makes opening jars easy... on second thought, go ask that very cute neighbor if he can open it for you.

Don't throw out all that leftover wine. Freeze into ice cubes for future use in casseroles and sauces... on second thought, leftover wine??????????? HELLO!!!!!!!

Lastly, if you don't forward this to 1 of your friends within the next 5 minutes your belly button will unscrew and your butt will fall off. Really.... It's true! Have I ever lied to you?

Movie Review Monday - Wall E

I never actually sat down to watch this movie... still haven't as a matter of fact, but I have seen bits and pieces and the kids just love it.

WALL-E - A Disney/Pixar film about a robot named WALL-E. He is left behind on earth to clean up the mess that humans have left behind. He meets EVE, a robot sent back to earth to check for signs of life so humans can return home. After spending 700 years on the Axiom, it is time. WALL-E's only concern was his new friend EVE but he ends up helping out more than he even knows. I loved the message this movie sends. The way we are living now is only going to get worse if we don't start taking care of our home. There are some really funny parts in this movie and it really holds the kids' attention. They love it. It is a great movie to sit and watch together as a family. Maybe one of these days I will actually get around to that. I must admit that at first I didn't see what everyone liked about the movie... I just didn't care for it, from what I saw. Then I saw how the kids loved it and realized the message this movie was sending and it isn't so bad afterall. If you haven't seen it yet, check it out. You likely will not be disappointed.

"Fun" Photo Friday - Late Again

The reason I put fun in quotations is because this posting of pictures, while fun when they happened, now bring memories of a loved one lost.

Our prayers for Sarah may have been heard, but it was too late. She was already gone and it was just a matter of time before she made her way up the stairway to Heaven. Thursday night, just 2 hours after seeing her, her heart stopped beating. She is no longer in any pain.

I told my kids yesterday that their beloved Miss Sarah was no longer with us. I explained the situation to my older two and Lexi seemed ok, she wasn't as close to Sarah as the rest of the kids. Jacob asked why, and I explained the best I could. No one really knows why these things happen. I then told Kadie and Adam that we won't be able to see Miss Sarah anymore, she was now in Heaven. Kadie buried her head in my shoulder and gave me a big hug. Adam was the cutest of them all... he said, "I go to heaven too?" to which I replied, "Someday" and he shouted "Yay!" Later in the day when I was going up to Sears Portrait to see Victoria (we worked with Sarah), Adam wanted to go. I told him no I was going by myself to see Miss Victoria. He started to pout, put his head in my chest and whined, "No wanna see Miss Toria, me see Miss Sarah!" I wanted to cry. My poor baby! He really loved her. As we all did...

Hear Our Prayers

I may not deserve to be heard... and I may not be any good at this... but that won't stop me from reaching out there and hoping to find a miracle.

Sarah is only 24 years old and she felt like her life could not be saved. Just last week she got her hair and nails done, she went out to dinner with a friend, and she talked about going back to work next week. All in all, she seemed like she was on the track to helping herself. If she wanted help from her family and friends, that was the first step.

Now here I sit today, thinking back on all the mean things I said. And even today thinking about how terrible of a friend I have been while she is going through her own hell. She is my friend. So much alike, we were like sisters. We even fought like we were but at the end of the day... we were still friends.

My friend, my sister, is now in a coma. Her brain has stopped functioning and her heart is slowing down. She cannot breathe on her own and her parents should not have to be thinking about making such a heartbreaking decision. She had her entire life ahead of her... she never got married, she never had children although she had plenty of love from mine and the children she nannied. She had friends that held her hair when she puked and gave her a kick in the ass when she needed it. She had family that would do anything for her at the drop of a hat. She was loved.

Only you can save her now. I am trusting in the power of prayer to get her through this. We need a miracle.

Wii Fitting It

I got on my Wii Fit for the first time in 12 days today, only the third time this month. Mr. Wii informed me this was my 283rd day. That means I have had the Wii Fit for almost an entire year. Want to venture a guess on how often I have actually used it?

As of today I have logged just over 8 hours! THAT. IS. IT!!! Wow! I really need to get my butt into gear. And this afternoon, I did just that.

I banked 1 hour on the Wii Fit (which actually took about longer than that with all the downtime between activities). I did every yoga pose. Some of them I hate, but I did them anyway. And then I did all the balance activities... there are 9, but I did beginner, advanced and even expert on every one that had it available. I did really well on a lot of them and only one I didn't do well on at all. I gave up after 3 tries. After finishing with the Fit, I went and did 10 pushups and 50 crunches. Later I plan on doing all the aerobics activities and the strength training on the Fit.

So butt, consider yourself in gear!

Tuesday Review

My husband was right... I did watch a movie. We watched Billy Madison on Sunday night. I fell asleep before it was over but it's not like that was the first time I saw it. In fact, the first time was in junior high.

Billy Madison - Adam Sandler plays a privileged adult who's father paid off his teachers to give him good grades, his entire 12 years of school. His father decides to not give him the family company since he is not capable of handling it until Billy talks him into allowing him to go back to school to prove himself. Each grade, two weeks, or Eric (he works for the Madisons) will get the company. A lot of crude humor and language but all in all a funny movie. Not as funny now, to a mom of 5 with a higher appreciation for movies but definitely a Sandler classic. If you have never seen Billy Madison and you like Will Ferrell movies, this is a must see. My kids are allowed to watch almost anything, but I would not let them watch this. Too many sexual references. Back in junior high this would have received 5 stars, but I now give it a 3.75. Just not my type of movie anymore.

Movie Review Monday - Photos Instead

Hello readers! Fun Photo Friday is here! Yes, three days late, but you know what they say... better late than never, right? (Plus I have no movie to review, it was a crazy weekend).

Friday was an extremely busy day and the hubby had my memory card reader in SC with him so I couldn't get the pictures off my camera. Not quite sure what is on the memory card, I know there are some soccer pictures and since the season is over, it's only right to share it with all of you. Watch for a couple soccer videos, as well. I would have gotten them on here sooner but the entire weekend was just a bit crazy.

Hope you enjoy and forgive the delay :)
