R.A.O.K.

Another random act of kindness was bestowed upon us recently. It had been a stressful morning at Sam's Club. We were having an issue with our gift membership which took a long time to get figured out. After having to pay for another membership I finally got my shopping done and tried getting the membership taken care of again while John took the kids out to the car.

While he was out there an older gentleman stopped by to talk to him. We still have the writing on the windows from when John came home from Iraq in July and it gets us a lot of attention, not to mention it is easier to find our car that way LoL He thanked John for his service and walked off. A few minutes later he came back and offered John "a little something to help with all the beautiful babies." John tried to give the rolled up bill back but the man insisted. John set it down underneath his cellphone and went about his scolding of the tired kids.

When I got out to the car, John told me about the man and him giving him some money. I asked how much but John didn't know since he was in the middle of yelling at the kids when it happened, so he just set it down. I asked where it was and reached down for it. I unrolled the bill and said, "Oh my god, you didn't look at it." as tears filled my eyes, "He gave you a hundred dollar bill!" John said had he known how much it was he definitely wouldn't take it... well yah, that is why the man handed it to him all rolled up.

I don't keep the writing on the windows so people will give us money, but after that I don't ever want to take it off. Bad things happen to good people all the time, and if the writing on my windows makes my life just a little bit better... I want it there for as long as it will stay.

OMG Bri! That brought tears to my eyes. How cool is that. I always feel compelled to thank our military if I happen to see someone in uniform when I'm out. I saw someone last night in the grocery store; and kept seeing him; but never said anything. I regret not doing so and will definitely do it from now on; even if they think I'm crazy :P.

Awww, isn't that the best? I love to hear stories like that. And definitely well deserved.

Hi, Bri! It's me, Elaine, from Jan06 (txmommatobe). I can't believe I've never seen your blog before - it's great! I plan to keep up!!
