January: A trying time in my marriage. On the brink of divorce. Never thought we would get to the light at the end of the tunnel. I was scared to face him when he came home on leave.
February: Moved on and spent a glorious three weeks together. Took the kids to Universal Studios. My sister came with us. Took so many pictures and loved every minute. Got ourselves two puppies, Buckeye & Jack.
March: St. Patrick's Day was this month. Can't remember if we actually did anything like we have in years past. We did send lots of goodies to daddy. Soccer started this month. Lexi and Jacob are on the same team!!
April: Took a trip to the Riverbanks Zoo in SC with playgroup. My brother finally married his long time girlfriend just outside of New Orleans. I took the wedding pictures. Not the greatest but I never claimed to be great. Got to visit NOLA for the first time... walked down Bourbon Street and had a HUGE jello shot. Wish my hubby could have been there.
May: 6 years and going strong... my marriage that is. After the problems we had in the beginning of the year I was not anticipating making it this far. I was surprised with a day at the spa and flowers delivered to me at my friend's house. My sister came to visit again. Took the kids to see Sesame Street Live and took a trip to Splash in the Boro. I also got my hair cut and colored this month. My favorite look to date. Soccer ended and the kids did great. I took the team pictures which turned out very nice.
June: Lexi had her fairytale ball at school. It was super cute. The school year ended and we stayed home instead of making the usual trip to Ohio since we had begun the countdown to daddy being home. Made a Father's Day video for John. Also bought him a brand new Jeep Wrangler for Father's day. Took all the kids swimming at a friend's pool and they were so well behaved. Went blueberry picking in the Georgia heat... big mistake... just about died LoL Had to find a new home for Jack since John's cousin couldn't take him with him when he moved. He went to a great family! Buckeye is still with us but drives me nuts.
July: 4th of July Celebration on post. It was hot but the kids had fun. Met with some friends and stayed the whole day. John came home two days later and what a reunion it was. He gave me a much needed vacation and I went to California for a Spunky Mom's meetup. Was a total blast aside from the bit of drama. Came home to an almost potty trained son and no desire to go to Six Flags like we had planned.
August: I missed John's birthday because I had plans to go to a concert that was originally scheduled for the 15th but was changed. Had a blast. Came home and spent the majority of the month just spending time with my husband and kids. Said goodbye to a fellow playgrouper. Got way too drunk that night but it was oh so fun.
September: Drove to Cincinnati for my brother in law's wedding. Spent the whole weekend. The wedding was very nice and the weather was great. My sister kept the kids for us the night of the wedding so we could enjoy ourselves and stay the whole night. I felt a little alone all night as John kept disappearing but all in all I had a good time just taking some pictures of everything. School started back up... Lexi in the 2nd grade, Jacob in the 1st. Kadie missed the cutoff for pre-k by two weeks. Soccer started back up! Even Adam & Kadie were signed up.
October: Drama in playgroup caused a falling out. Had an impromptu halloween party at our house. It was a riot... could have been better, but you do what you gotta do. The kids got so much candy at Halloween. Lexi was a monster bride, Jacob was Dash from The Incredibles, Kadie was Tinkerbell, Adam was Thing 2 and Sara was Thing 1. They were all adorable. I also started working at Sears Portrait this month. Such fun, I love it!
November: Had a Thanksgiving Feast for a couple friends at my house. We had ham and corn pudding and yams and lots of other goodies. Adam played soccer but Kadie didn't. He LOVED it. I will definitely be signing him up again. Lexi and Jacob had a GREAT soccer season almost going undefeated (even though they don't keep score). Took the three youngest to see The Wiggles Live. It was so much fun, they loved it. For Thanksgiving we went to Sea World. Spent the day there and the kids really enjoyed themselves. We usually all get in free but this year had to pay for two of the kids... I was PEEVED. Next year we probably won't get in free at all since Anheuser-Busch is selling Sea World and Busch Gardens (or so I have heard).
December: Picked up some last minute Christmas gifts and started wrapping. John worked on getting the house cleaned and the kids were getting ancy wanting to put up the tree and other decorations. I was not in the Christmas spirit. We did Christmas before coming to Ohio and that is where we are now. Spending our last night of 2008 here, with no plans... welcoming the new year with open arms with hopes that I can make myself an all around better person.

Wow, Bri, what a wonderful, eventful year you had! You must keep a calendar to remember it all. I have a hard time remembering what I had for breakfast this morning. I think it was toast...
Thanks for sharing, and hope you have a happy 2009 with lots of fun and adventure!
