The Best Christmas Present

Lexi spends every weekend with her friend Ashley and they are always going somewhere... the mall, church, the park, etc etc etc. It never fails that she comes home with something that Miss Bonnie has bought for her. Last week it was a $9 coloring book... yah, she is C-R-A-Z-Y!!!

Anyway, yesterday was no different. Lexi came home with something and asked John where she could put it so I wouldn't see it. Apparently John thought she said where I would see it, so he told her on the kitchen counter. So she did.

I got home around 10 after working and grabbing dinner at Carrabba's with friends from work. I walked right to the kitchen to put the cookies I had made to take to work back on the counter when I saw it. I freaked out!!! I believe the words that came out of my mouth were... "NO FRICKIN' WAY!!!"

I grabbed it and ran out into the living room just in utter shock. I could not believe what I was seeing. After 7 years, Lexi finally did it again...

SHE SAT IN SANTA'S LAP!!!! OMG You do not even know how excited I was to see that. She has not sat on Santa's lap in 7 years. The last time she did was when she was 11 mths old. The next year I had to sit with her while Santa held Jacob. The following year, I'm not even sure we did Santa, but we did do the Easter Bunny and she would NOT go near him. Any other time we have gone to see Santa she has kept her distance, she wouldn't even go up with me. Needless to say this was a super duper proud mommy moment and I am kind of sad I wasn't there. I am glad, however, that Bonnie was sweet enough to get some pictures for me.

Lexi came out of the bedroom after much commotion from me saying she couldn't sleep cause I was being too loud. Oops. I told her I loved the picture of her with Santa and she stomped her foot and said "UGH!" She wanted to save it for me for Christmas... I told her I thought it was the best Christmas present ever! (I also assured her I would be quieter so she could get back to sleep).

I think I might blow up one of the pictures into a 20x24, frame it on my wall and put "Lexi FINALLY conquered her fear after 7 years!!!!" Think that is a little too much and do you think John would go for that? LoL
