The Icing on the Cake

As if things weren't stressful enough around here I now am stressed out over this country's choice of leadership. I am not an unproud American like some have claimed to be lately because I still live in a great nation filled with freedoms others can only imagine but I am highly disappointed by the reasons the voters voted the way they did.

I don't even know why I care so much. Maybe it has to do with the fact that politicians talk out of both sides of their mouths and in circles so no one really knows what their intentions are. Maybe it is because this is the first time I have voted. Maybe it is because history shows that Democrats do not give the military as high of a raise as the Republicans do. Maybe it has nothing to do with any of that... maybe it has to do with the foul mood I have been in for months now. Who freakin' knows.

What I do know is that in 2 1/2 mths we will begin to see what change really is and 4 yrs from now we can either relish in this change or we get to say "told you so" and elect someone new. Isn't it great to be an American!

I am very curious to see what will happen when Obama is in office. My candidate didn't get elected, but I have mixed feelings.... Change can be good but I'm concerned about the direction of some of that change.

I agree with beth on this one - Change can be good but I don't really like not knowing what that 'change' might be. I just hope that over the next 4 years our husbands don't see any negative reprocussions from this 'change' kwim?
